Wedding Photography - FAQ
We would like you to photograph our wedding, how do we proceed?
Great! You can contact me via my contact page with your wedding date and location. I will respond via email or phone to discuss pricing, packages and availability. If possible, I would like to have an initial face to face consultation with you to meet informally. The more I understand your personality, the more genuine the photos will be. This also gives you the opportunity to ask questions and look at samples of my work from previous weddings. After that, you can scratch "find a photographer" from your list of things to do!
What are we going to get when we book you? How many photos and in what format?
I go through a rigorous selection of the best images of the day. The number of photos obviously depends on the time I spend with you on your wedding day. Generally speaking, you will receive more than 400 pictures for a full day, in high definition without any logo for your personal use.
Do you retouch the photos? What about black & white photos?
I treat each of the photos with individual attention and make basic photo adjustments such as cropping and color correction where necessary. Just as you can see on my webpage, I convert some pictures into black & white when I think it enhances the desired effect of the picture.
Can you travel to cover our wedding?
Yes! I will try to do whatever is possible to be your wedding photographer and usually that is not a problem. My travelling within 50 km from Morges is included in the price. Beyond that, please contact me for a personalized offer.
When will we get the pictures after the wedding?
I know how important it is for you to receive the photos as soon as possible after the wedding for thank-you cards, for sharing them or just out of curiosity. For this reason I usually send about a dozen photos within 3 days after the wedding. The remaining photos are usually put online and are thus securely accessible within 3-4 weeks after the wedding. How far in advance should we book you?The earlier the better. Once you have a wedding date and the venue, just contact me for availability!
What if we are not comfortable with a photographer around us?
Being dressed like a guest, I will try to be as discreet as possible to not draw any attention to myself. My work as a photographer is really only noticeable during the family group shots and portraits. Experience and professional gear allows for flashes to be used only if absolutely necessary in order to keep distraction to a minimum. Oftentimes, an engagement session prior to the wedding can help the couple and me to get familiarized. Just be yourselves, that makes for the best shots!
What if it rains during an outdoor wedding?
Your wedding venue should provide you with a backup indoor location in case of rain. For me, being indoor is no problem and that is something I always prepare for when I visit the venue before the wedding.
Do you also take pictures of the preparations of the bride & groom?
The energy and enthusiasm of everyone getting ready is strong. I can also capture the calm and solemn moments where the bride and groom think of their wedding vows, of the friends and family close by, as well as all the details that make this day so special.
Will there also be posed family photos?
Yes, if you like! I take all the "classic" photos you wish, but my aim is to go beyond these expectations and give you photos that you've never thought of which will tell the full story of your special day.
